The Written Word

The written word is an excellent therapist
It is a tall bottle of booze without the hangover
It is an easy woman without S.T.D.s
A crime without punishment
The written word makes life all the more bearable
With the written word
I want to express a raw
Honest
Human
World view
Which sees beyond philosophy
Theology
Or whatever other mind fuck
That fools people
Into believing there’s a handle on life
This is the ultimate goal of expression for the best of my writings
So take my words for what they’re worth
If they are of no value to you
Then throw them away
If they threaten you
Then go ahead and burn them
It makes no difference to me
Take them or leave them
That’s your choice
I choose to give my life to them
To express my soul through them
With or without your money
I will continue to write
If for no other person
Than for myself
It will be worth the effort
The reward is far greater than monetary
The written word
Truly does make life
All the more bearable
The written word
Gives me relief
From the pressure of death
I shall cherish the written word
Till I become food for worms
I shall live my life
In such a way
That it is interesting enough
To be worth writing about
