An Addled Eden

addled branches, twisted limbs casting
silhouettes upon the rotten ground.
a place where feathers lay and
burnt umbra leaves fall scattered
upon the moonlight's tinted gaze.

within this garden of endless darkness
things unseen, untouched by the living,
by the light and by all of time forgotten,
it is here the shadows will thrive in twilight
through ticking eons by death begotten.

a fog drifts upon a thousand rancid graves
grotesque, deranged in a dance of grisly
disillusioned figures moving through
this cursed realm to the chants of deadly
sighs and nocturnal loving wails.

beyond these withered shameless dreams
in this limbo, this hell lies a sepulchral tableau
where apparitions grieve eternally of their
death living in a morose purgatory
of their own, their nightshade garden of Eden.
