Perennial Lady

 Busting through the healthy earth
Penetrating its hardest barrier
Sun warming with the ability to provide life
A green stalk budding, expanding sprouting leaves
Loftier each day with strength and promise
Emerging from the year beforehand
Freely to shape itself flattering its uniqueness
Promises of a different bud each year
Awakening each day, spiraling towards the sun
Beaming with the hope of a flowering blossom
All elements beating it downwards
To remain brilliant and uncompromised
The phase comes when the seasons change
Forcing it buried beneath the earth again
Dormant from the heaviest elements for seasons more
Protecting itself, allowing no harm to its roots
Temporarily relaxed with the knowledge of a new cycle to come again
