Trivial Love

I haven't seen the sun in days.
But that's alright, I've
Learned to live with the dark,
To love the black void
In which I wait for you.

I watch as other people's dreams
Float by in the river of
Night.
They lose them and drown
In nightmares,
But I stay afloat
On the raft of our absent
Love.

Your voice echoes down the halls
Of my mind,
Cold and too
Quiet to hear.
You haven't spoken in so long,
That I have forgotten the
Sound of your voice,
The language of your love is
Among the stars, and I
Can't understand.
But that's alright,
I can't hear your mistakes and
Sweet-poison lies.

The moonlight holds my hand now, while
Yours is absent.
The silver that once illuminated
Us softly, now
Clothes me alone,
Providing no solace from cold.
But that's alright, I've come to love the
Chill of a thousand lost
Souls on my skin.

When you return you will
See that i have torn off the
Old scabs.
I've entered a world
That you cannot follow me into.
A world of broken mirrors
That show you
Only the truth.
I am happy in my world
Of no sunlight.
