D
There was utter silence
the minute she rolled in
on such a chilling night...
it was love at first sight.
In a room of cold stares
I was her lonely flame,
her heat to melt her sleet.
My light caught her gaze
and not one word was spoken
we just stared into each other
and I saw through her lies.
When we touched,
I made that incision
reaching deep inside,
I discovered the secrets
of my mute lover.
But it was not until we kissed,
I knew then, she’d never love me enough.
Her cause exposed;
lifeless
self destruction.
It left me in dismay.
I kissed her goodbye,
took off my rubber gloves
and washed my hands of my love.
I wrote down her number from her toe tag
and zipped up the body bag.
“Oh dear, why is life and love like a
disease, so lonely and painful? Oh, D.”
