Glass Skull

My eyes gaze at nothing, my thoughts
flicker close, spin away, unchecked.

I think about shadows, how they soak
the ground at nightfall. They are there.

I shrug once, shake my head, mirror-shard
thoughts swirl around a glass skull of plasma.

Now the outside is clear. The middle is shades
of nothing and has swallowed me whole.
