Still Rocking and Bluesing

Sir Robert was in town
and the dude can still bring it
jamming at the Waterfront
oh man did he sing it

Once upon a time
he was front man for the mighty Led Zep
a force of nature were those British guys
full of swagger, bravado and pep

Wisely didn't try to recreate
that band's sound to a tee
without Bonham and Page
there was no way that could be

Instead changed arrangements
that didn't require as much of the high voice
since it was a blues festival
it was a very good choice

With the money going to the food bank
helping the less fortunate and giving back
a splendid Summer's day in P=town
and cost a lot less then Fleetwood Mac

Blues well he owned it
white soul brother number one
had me feeling amorous
oh yeah I can come undone

With that African world be in house
reminded me of another Brit
Peter Gabriel after Genesis
and Robert has a wonderful wit

Now I realize that some of my favorites
are getting up there in age
but just because they are road tested
doesn't me they can't command the stage

And while NOTHING can top
seeing Sade in full force
Mr. Plant still kicked it
steered the festival on a lovely course
