When the river
Asked me for a kiss
It was that something
I just could not resist
It's surface was so very
Calm and exciting
The words were
Cool and inviting
It entered my mind
I just had to obey
I could not protest
There was nothing to say

I leapt from the edge
To start my descent
The peace that I felt
Was heaven sent
I broke the surface
Negativity washed away
What a perfect end
To this day
Air forced from my lungs
Sanity yet to be returned
Filled with water
My chest expanded and burned

My lungs destroyed
They just imploded
Pain excruciating
My mind exploded
There was no way to scream
No matter how I tried
I couldn't have oxygen
I couldn't have cried
The peace returned
Covered agony's mark
A smile crossed my face
Just before the world went dark
