So 1980's

"So 1980's" By Marcus Cooke

Recently I've been
reminiscing about the 80's
the music, the passion
the movies
crimes of fashion
its got so bad
that 2013 has disappeared
replaced with
a holographic copy
of the 1980's
when some wore legwarmers
and some were babies.
where some were yuppies
and some were just lazy
But this 80's fixation
is getting out of hand
time runs to quickly
measured in valleys of sand
i road this crazy 80's bullet
wearing snow washed jeans
and a dodgy mullet,
but what happened
to the music?
the hair bands? the glam?
we didn't get to far
from Micheal Jackson
to Bruno mars.
Are we tied to the 80's
or do we drown in seas of nostalgia
reliving are youth through
portals of music and movies
dreams and memory's
did we die December 31st 1989?
or as a consumer society
are we no longer able to survive?
in 2013 we are walking dead
burned out from the 80's
no longer alive.

A big shout out to Star107.9 Americas first 80's only radio station based out of Columbus, Ohio that i listen to in England.
