Beauty Sleeps Entombed (Part 2) ~ The Apology
he sits upon his chair
with endless words he writes
trying to move ahead
of the many demons he fights
restless in his head
armed only with his wit
sifting though the dark
and trying to deal with it
of the walls inside his heart
demons rip and tear
into the darkness of his mind
he can only stare
alone he sits glancing up
to where his lover rests
trying to keep the shadows now
from dancing in his head
in another time when he cried
to beauty he would turn
to try to ease his burden
he now dumps it into words
too many nights he knows
that she's had to lie alone
he wishes he could turn back time
and be there for her to hold
as he tries to fight
through the war that he is in
he only wants to win this fight
and be a man again
but his pain keeps his heart
shadowed by the dark
he must try to find a way
from completly falling apart
from his heart
a sorrowful sigh
an apology he extends
for making his beauty sleep alone
in darkness once again
with endless words he writes
trying to move ahead
of the many demons he fights
restless in his head
armed only with his wit
sifting though the dark
and trying to deal with it
of the walls inside his heart
demons rip and tear
into the darkness of his mind
he can only stare
alone he sits glancing up
to where his lover rests
trying to keep the shadows now
from dancing in his head
in another time when he cried
to beauty he would turn
to try to ease his burden
he now dumps it into words
too many nights he knows
that she's had to lie alone
he wishes he could turn back time
and be there for her to hold
as he tries to fight
through the war that he is in
he only wants to win this fight
and be a man again
but his pain keeps his heart
shadowed by the dark
he must try to find a way
from completly falling apart
from his heart

an apology he extends
for making his beauty sleep alone
in darkness once again
