Shattered Memories
I can only
speak for myself:
People themselves
are not broken,
although their memories
may be
in disrepair.
The realignment
of a memory
back
into the fold,
the repair
of a shattered
or fractured experience,
requires us
to see the value
in our present understanding
over our previous lack
of understanding,
and this comes
in our new found ability
to explain the inexplicable.
However maladjusted
our experience,
its alignment then
comes at the hand
of our using it
to document
and communicate
that which was
unimaginable
and use it
to directly illustrate
and express to others
our most costly moments,
as benefits
for their own steps
towards repair.
Our skills
become tools
to change emotions
so that minds can be
realigned
and actions
transformed.
Our survival
becomes their pathway
towards recovery,
and therein
is the worth
of our own
experience resolved.
Sometimes our experiences
are the car wreck experiences
we saw
in driver's ed.
