It is I

I've been sitting here for hours, and still I am doing nothing.
I've been complaining about my life to others, and now, they have stopped listening.
No one hears anymore. If people can't help, they just stop listening.

I call to God for that divine help that outreaches any help man could give. Even that divine ear turns deaf to me.

It is dark.
The silence only is listening to me.
I open my window and I tell the night, that only I, only I can help myself.
But it is the fault of the dark that I must act.
It is the fault of the dark that I must have such great sorrow in my bones.

The dark is offended and responds.

I turn in fear, when I feel the shadow upon me.
Behold a hooded figure in his prose, standing tall as the da rk does.
His face is hidden to me.

"Are you that evil that comes from night, and with your hollowed gaze look intothe  soul of man ?"

"It is I."

"Ah! Are you that evil that makes men less of thier nature, draws them down into dust, and keeps the gods deaf to thier prayers?"

"It is I."

"Thing of devil's consent ! Are you the one the keeps me sorrowed, and with your strong hold locks my chains harder and tighter to the Earth?"

"It it I."

"Is there no mercy in heaven ? Are there no new fruits to be grown on the Tree of Life? Is there no justice in this world that you must keep me from my own demands? Who are you O evil hooded man that you must keep me in fear of life always?"

"It is I."

"Speak no more in parables, what is your name? Show me your face of you devil heart wrapped in serpents, show me your soul that I may see the adversary of my life, that wretched thing that will not let me free!"

And on that moment, did I behold the hooded figure let loose his dark hood to reveal to me his face, the face which I named adversary, and damn of my soul. That face that I named seperate myself and of all God's glory should destroy.

And on that moment did I see...The hooded figure's form was....me.

And on that moment, my heart became still and all my facaulties were stopped in thier place.

Who is that adversary that keeps me chained to Earth, who is the devil-heart wrapped in serpents, who is the only being in this world that keeps me sorrowed.

I shall know for evermore, that evil thing is only..me.

And there for more hours upon hours will I sit
Now knowing what I have destroyed
Is nothing more than apart of me
That tried to tell me
That I alone am sorrow's door.
