Shooting Stars

As much as we all want to be the best
I sit and imagine how long it would take one to get there
If our lazy minds and negative thoughts come first.
We preach about how we would want to shoot for the stars
Yet we keep looking back to the scars of the past.
Do we shoot for stars because they above us?
Or because they are shining and bright?
Whatever happened to the end of the tunnel,
Where light is being assumed to dwell?
We have stars and superstars, actors and singers
The people we would be pleased just by touching with our fingers
Then we dream of living in their world.

They are stars,
yes,
but nobody knows the feeling of landing on one,
...Not even Mark Shuttleworth.

Are you going to keep shooting for the stars
Or are you going to wait for a shooting star
So you can wish on being one?
I beg to make my verbal dreams verbs
So I could live up to the value of my words.
For living on earth is just a scratch on a surface
But a star is a totally different world
