Blood Cousins

Blood Cousins

Live
Hunt
Kill

The darkened core of my existence
Refined and defined by the edicts of my father

Eternal agony branded in me by the man who killed my mother
Right in front of me
Hacked with silvery steel as she screamed to comfort me
I was baptized in her blood
Purified and demonized all at the same time
Those fleeting moments of her warmth were oddly
Soothing

Blood is the vessel of my spiraling  odyssey
For the red pearls I seek are so elusive
Never given
Always taken

In my sojourn I find those crimson pearls are essential most
To those who deserve them least

I study the rhythmic current of  blood and know it's echoes
People congregate
Blood coagulates
The strong gather around the weak to help
Or reek havoc

When blood splatters and dries
It's whispers of life can still be seen in the proper light

Vampire
Me
No

Lets just say we're kissing cousins

We live by the same Code
Live
Hunt
Kill

And yes,  my cousins and I are selective
Artistic in our approach even
Haven't you ever heard of a
Still
Life
