Angelic Dreams
- Angelic Dreams -
I am not outcast from Heaven’s light,
Rather, it blazes within me like a star.
Even in the depths of Hell’s deep night,
Wherein I nursed many a crimson scar.
My wings of radiance bear me hither…
Wherever I have been needed, in time.
I champion a glory that shall not wither,
Love is my chalice; passion is my wine!
Drink from my cup, and cure sadness…
Hold me in your arms and live forever.
Come to me, in the purity of gladness…
And, the ties to your old life now sever!
I carry the hopes you dared not realize,
And, I bear them to you with devotion.
This is my oath I shall not compromise:
I shall be true to all my soul’s emotion.
And I will prepare a throne at my side,
Where I shall seat you above all others.
Come to me, where your dreams abide!
I am that most blessed of all mothers…
Though fallen from the glorious heights.
Even in the darkness, I create Paradise!
Come to dwell in my garden of delights,
Know that peace only we can realize…
And, you will understand all my vision.
A world without war, suffering, or pain!
Where we may love, without division…
This is the dream I strive, for us to gain.
For an angel dreams of things so grand,
Whilst, mortal hearts conceive of less…
As they destroy each other and the land.
They feign ignorance and cause distress,
In the name of piety and serving divinity.
Though I walk in this human guise now,
I still have my beautiful angelic dignity!
Come share my throne, share my crown.
Angelic dreams are more then a fancy…
More, than the passing of one heartbeat!
Let ours beat together in a grand destiny,
And I will offer you the fruit: most sweet.
Forbidden mayhap, but is that not truly…
What makes the most perfect love, ideal?
Your spirit is wild sometimes, so unruly…
So like my own, familiar yet also surreal!
Fly with me; fall with me, as we do laugh.
We will soar again, happier than before!
Love is like magic; it is my favorite craft.
Dream with me, we have glory in store!

For my illustration for this poem, I decided to use this beautifully angelic photo of me that I took today, and to which I added only the black background, wings, and distant sun. It suited my poem to perfection! :D
