Youth
Little kids playing at the park.
When they smile, it creates a spark.
Enjoying themselves on the playground toys.
Running away from the boys.
Makes us think about when we were younger.
We only thought about sleep and hunger.
Boys had cooties.
Laughing off our little booties.
Everyone was everyone's friend.
Never worrying about having to blend.
No popular crowds.
Falling down, looking up at the clouds.
Smiling and waving at our parents.
Whining about refreshments.
Nobody having cellphone's.
Laughing and talking about if we were clones.
Wishing we could be twins with our best friend.
Not knowing what it all meant.
Happiness at such a young age.
Not knowing that one day, we'd have to turn the page.
Right now, we watch them play.
One day.
They'll watch their brother's, sister's, or kids at the park.
Then, they'll see the spark.
We do this so they'll have fun.
Before the day is done.
Or, maybe we do it to wear them out.
They'll go to sleep, no doubt.
When they smile, it creates a spark.
Enjoying themselves on the playground toys.
Running away from the boys.
