DNA Rules?

Laura was in extremis awaiting Elysium
Life was not serving poor her at all well
Well, her well had been served frequently
But she had committed a deep dark error

Laura had met a man who had done things
Things to Laura’s limbic system and lobes
Her lobes were lambent with stabbing lights
Daylight lucid dreams overcame her insight

Laura was suborned to hormonal hegemony
Not a lucid thought was to be seen or fought
DNA ruled her heart and soul so completely
MENSA warrior had been fooled at one sight

Laura dreamt of love morning noon and night
Of this well formed good looking hot Adonis
Taking her to places in brains 1 to 4 n 5 to 8
That over 18s should only think about at night

Laura’s error? She had not done due diligence
Adonis was a fool, one brain cell in 10 worked
And 90 p. cent of those were linked to his dick
Too late. Laura hadn’t luxuriated in copper IUD

Laura returned home later one painful night
Adonis had been at the bottle and was besotted
He told how she’s old and dowdy. Laura said,
‘But beautiful tomorrow, you’ll still be, a fool.’

Laura set out to write a book of woman’s sins
Failure to do due diligence on the first hunk
Negligence in reading fast Default alternatives
Most of all having expectations of a new man

Laura’s Kid is a beauty, an earthly bright one
She thought of all the pain and sorrow of women
Saying.’ A woman and a fool are soon parted but
What was she doing with a fool in the first place?
