Sand and Stone
we are the opposites that attract
letting the best in each shine
I am ubiquitous like the sand
folding around you as a cushion
against the waves of power
you are the stone sturdy in substance
through strength you carry
the world on your own
but I am the sand that softly
folds into your touch
we are a pulse that beats as one
for I am the sand
and you are stone
letting the best in each shine
I am ubiquitous like the sand
folding around you as a cushion
against the waves of power
you are the stone sturdy in substance
through strength you carry
the world on your own
but I am the sand that softly
folds into your touch
we are a pulse that beats as one
for I am the sand
and you are stone

A string of metaphors superbly moulded to make an allegory. Sign of a true poet.

Strong write, that sings of love,
rushing in and out as the tide.
I love the title.
I love the poem.
rushing in and out as the tide.
I love the title.
I love the poem.
