SELF HATE

What happen to the love of our beautiful black skin?
When did this self-hate begin?
No longer looking deep within
Caught up in negativity
To many of our black men lying in the grave
Or wasting away in prison
Hooked on drugs
Life wasting away
What does the color of your skin mean to you?
It’s an inner spirit, strength, an essence of beauty
Every time you look in your brothers eyes
And take his life
A piece of you DIES and our race CRIES
We can no longer blame the system
For the trouble were in
It’s time to look among ourselves
Why are we full of so much disrespect?
Black women are referred to as whores and bitches
By our own black men
When we are Nubian queens
And should be protected
By our Nubian kings
We are mothers that bare future greats
We as black women need to stop allowing
Ourselves to be disrespected
As a race we need to look out for each other
Black men need to stand strong
Stop just being a baby father, be a dad
A positive force in your childs life
Help ensure our future generation
Stops getting tricked and dragged down
We need to unite together instead of
Fighting each other
United we stand divided we fall
Division allows weakness
The youths are lost, have no Identity
Do not know who they are meant to be
Stereotype their only reality
No one to look up to
No one to turn to
We have to feed their mind
With truth, positivity and hope
Only then can we make the change
