Star Crossed I

By Grace and Soul
HERO:                  Oh..what lips upon me breathe
                      of Elysium sails past
                      Quivering lips of Thanatos
                      vanquished by such softness
                      robbed Hyacinth’s allure away

LEANDER:               lips of our met breath
that rises to life, light again
                      embrace and to hold, slow
thy hand do I take, from
                      sleeps grasp forsaken  lake
                      nudged but safe with me

HERO:                  Lean I on thy strength
Yet sin I against my credence
                      What punishment from the gods
                      Be bestowed upon me
To lose the heart to Eros’ might

LEANDER:               fold unto me, is my flesh not real
be not made, of stone, for sink
                      surely would, make light
                      Heart, rise above slate
                      in Song of Eros home

HERO:                  I bequeath my soul upon thee
Draw thee my life from yon lake
                      Beauty to be named Hyacinth
                      Its depths stole my breath
Were it not for thy gallantry
Repose I on its murky bed

LEANDER:               Then purposed I with thine eye
                      awakened deep flowing slumber
                      Thou, Beauty, cannot sleep
in such depths cold and bleak
                      soul to Soul coverings bold
kept our breaths as one and told

HERO:                  thus, upon this Turquoise Tower
a priestess to gods no more
                      Betrayed to thy altar
                      With Wings of cupids
                      Thou traverse Amphitrite's cold garden
With Arrows of Eros, wanton throes

LEANDER:               As Brick to thy mortar
                      Consume I with fiery passion
To worship one night to the other
I will abide by thee, know no tide
                      Poseidon grants me passage
                      For Love of my Hero
Taken from the lake, sealed in fate.

*This collaboration is based loosely on the story of Hero and Leander/Greek Mythology. Liberty has been taken with the location. This is an experimental attempt.*
