A TRUCKERS CONVERSATION .... FOR TODD RIP

A Truckers Conversation....

Miles of highway have come and gone...

Sunsets and night falls are a truck drivers life..

Today was a carbon copy of yesterday's until I saw him...

An older gentleman walking by the side of the road....

I had to stop, this man was all alone, he needed me....

A quick smile as he opened the door and I offered a hand to help...

"Thank you son, was his reply...."

I had to ask "why are you on the road all alone, don't you know it's dangerous?"

He just chuckled a sweet laugh and said," I was waiting for you..."

At first my thought was, he must be confused, then he said, "you see I have watched you grow, live your life, and drive your truck....
I have always been with you son !"

I began to feel somewhat uncomfortable, even a little fearful as the man explained....

"I was there the first time you took your first breathe, your first step, your first flat, your wreck when you was 20, and the day you asked me to come into your heart and be your Savior..."

I was without words, my eyes focused on his face,  I thought to myself, but your just a man?

Trembling I managed to asked, "why are you here?"

His answer was simple yet astounding...

"I just wanted to ride with you for awhile...."
