My Favorite Game
One of you here will be hunted
For quite some time that's all I've wanted
Picked randomly one is selected
No volunteers can be accepted
You will be taken against your will
And forced to play a game of thrill
Deep in the woods the game is played
The rules are clear that I have made
Survive the night and you'll go free
All the while eluding me
The hunt will start when I say go
I'll shoot you now if you say no
Thirty minutes I'll give to you
A sporting chance til I pursue
Don't be afraid this won't take long
Die with honor and finish strong
Deep Underground is where I've found
To be the perfect hunting ground
Here writers think three moves ahead
But unlike chess check means you're dead
Somehow you must stay wide awake
The forest waits for your mistake
A panicked mind will not prevail
Distractions leave an easy trail
I hear the sound of branches crack
I slowly cock my crossbow back
A laser scope has you in sight
Long streaks of red cut through the night
An arrow flies to meet its mark
Shrieks echo from the distant dark
Gasp for miles to catch your breath
You can't outrun a certain death
Tracked for hours and losing speed
But time won't give you what you need
I see your eyes caught in the moon
And taste the kill that's coming soon
There on the ground against a log
The chase ends with the morning fog
With bloody hands you beg and cry
You pee yourself before you die
Then always comes my favorite part
A close range shot that stops your heart
Once more I pose holding my prize
Sometimes I like to keep the eyes
Against your mouth I press my lips
I bite your tongue until it rips
Your genitals I will eat first
And drink your blood to quench my thirst
Deep Underground now minus one
The game goes on until there's none
Human trophies align my wall
Not just the heads but skins and all
There's no country I haven't been
And every hunt I always win
Each month I'll draw a different name
One more will play my favorite game
For quite some time that's all I've wanted
Picked randomly one is selected
No volunteers can be accepted
You will be taken against your will
And forced to play a game of thrill

Nicely done! Very chilling, and good insight into the mind of the hunter.

This is amazing... I love The Darker Side Of Your Poet! It feeds the imagination of the darker side of mine. You are truly an amazing poet, mourningcloak.

Mourningcloak,
A game of thrill indeed from the hunters perspective. Well written.
I would not wish to be selected to participate in this game. My life is precious to me! However, if I were selected, it may just be that I will survive the night and go free!

Very good, I found it intimidating and thrilling at the same time. Reminded me of the Hunger Games book. I really did enjoy it.

That's really cool. Tells an awesome story and a great concept too. Could turn it into a film :)

"There's no country I haven't been
And every hunt I always win
Each month I'll draw a different name
One more will play my favorite game " nice way to end it..Dark but reflective.

Really love this and has beautiful rhythm
Can't help but think that the game is a metaphor?

The night may be your time, the forest your field,
But when the hunter becomes the hunted like a pig
you will squeal,
At that hopeless moment you'll know the Endtime is near
Paralyzed by your defeat and shitty with fear.
