He gave her a rose of deepest red
to compliment her pale white skin
A gesture of thanks
for the wonderful gift
she had promised him
Their world is full of dark desires
shared in word and mind
The crave and lust
and fire and rage
A love of a different kind
The rose is a symbol
to begin their life
her journey into submission
The strength and will
of this Dominant
ensuring they achieve their mission
A token of thanks
A sign of giving
The Rose is a reminder
of ‘’their’’ world
they live in

Maybe it's their secret because the rose is also a sign on silence as in "Sub Rosa" under the sign of the rose, an ancient sign of secrecy?

Thank you Blocat. I am pleased you like it. I didn't know about 'the rose' being a sign of silence. It makes it even more symbolic as it was a tightly kept secret. People in this lifestyle most often have to keep it from family and friends unfortunately.
