Kittens

I'm not really one for pets,
since I don't believe
in domesticating animals,
but here is one breed that
I have a particular fondness for.

They can be a Little finicky,
and they have trouble,
or are trouble, in the area
of making their needs known.

They often paw and push
and need to act as lap potatoes;
it can be sort of cute
but overall it's a nuisance
that needs to be tended to.

They need to be house broken
in the sense that they need
minor discipline, and yet
I find that they have a playful
attitude about life and can be fun.

I guess the only real problem
is balancing life and the intimacy
that comes with having a kitten:
They can be demanding.

Don't get me wrong,
I like cats…
taste like chicken.

I always use that joke,
and sometimes it gets me
into hot water.

What can I say;
we all have to work
these things out,
even with our pets.
