A Letter to A True Friend

All you have ever
done for me was
help me.

You're not hurting
me. You've never
hurt me.

You are good enough.
You are an amazing
friend, that's where
the "best" comes from.

You are right, and it
wasn't at all selfish
of you to say that if
you were him you'd have
a far greater chance of
saving me.

The thing is, you'll
never be him. THANK GOD
for that.

All he's ever done was
make me feel worthless,
broke me to pieces,
tear me down, and I let
him because I thought
it'd make him want me.

It didn't.

When I finally figured that
out, I came running to you
and you supported your foolish
best friend.

I love you. You are a true
friend, and I don't think
I've ever felt so supported
except when I'm with you.

You're the funniest person
I know, you're compassionate,
and always a good listener,
even when I've fucked up
knowingly, you are still
there.

And, I know, you will always
be there for me.
