no colors here
just a rainbow-curved line
of white rocket exhaust
drawn across the November sky
tracing the ballistic trajectory
of a German V2 rocket as it
crosses the English channel
and heads for London with its
2000 pound warhead traveling at
four times the speed of sound
arriving silently at the Woolworth's
department store in New Cross
which explodes with a blinding
flash and an enormous roar
followed by a dense cloud of
smoke and debris casting a
shadow over the body parts
of 168 shoppers who have queued
outside hoping to buy saucepans
made scarce by war rationing

nice scene from the anals of human mayhem....
&just to think, American Industrial royalty was pumping money ('investing')into German 'business recovery' for 20years previous to the scene you describe. God Bless Amerika's Kapital....AND so many many redwhite&blue pat'riots hole-heartedly embraced Hitlerism thru the 30's(&many probably beyond)...Charles Lucky Lindberg offering frequent 'consultations' on the building of the Luftwaffe....amazing the sweet relationships dollar-diplomacy/capitalism can forge

A historical muse, but sadly still applicable today. Liked the curve of the poem, following the trajectory of that rocket.
