Our Secret Garden

a luscious paradise and  
a place that is known only to you and I  
where time doesn't exist and eternity makes its home  
only we know the path that leads to its mysterious location  
it hides itself from the others and  
they can neither see it nor find it  
there we speak the same language and read each others thoughts  
it's here that we make love and become one  
made complete by the mere existence of the other  
even our struggles, hurts, misunderstandings and  
differences of opinion don't find their way here  
not being able to utter the secret password at the gate  
which speaks of love in its highest form  
it's up to us to keep our secret garden flourishing  
and if we do, it will be ours forever
