Last Thought

Sitting here alone watching the moon make it's appearance
The only light shining through my open windows
Quietly sitting to eat my dinner
I didn't want any of it
Even though I hungered my mouth did not salivate for it
I figured I would try and eat anyway
I cut the meat laying on my plate and took a bite
Spiting it right back out the taste made me sick
smelling of blood and tasting of rancid flesh
It seemed as though the world was rotting in front of me
to try and remedy this walking in the rain to the ocean
standing on the rocky shore looking down
my flesh feeling like it was on fire I jumped in
my body was seized by invisible hands
dragging me down to the depths of it's floor
Maybe I did go insane when you left me
I never thought it would come to this
