I wouldn't mind if my heart flew out of it's cage,

This isn't a memory

Holes in your sides,
Holes in your head,
Flowers in the sky,

Part of Me
Back
When my hands flew and my hair grew.
Back
When my eyes were wide and my heart wider.
When I felt the leaves, the carpet, and the wind.
When I could taste every fiber of air.
When every up and down was significant.
Now
My hands stay in my pockets.
Now
My eyes are lost and my heart disguarded.
My senses are dulled to a distance.
My mind is filled with waste.
My emotions are insignificant.
What happened to me?
Oh, yeah, I changed all right.
But the worst thing of...

Symphony
Rich melodies run in our veins
Glorious sound and ancient strings
Graceful hymns and soulful notes
Our hearts race and slow and rush and stop
To the music in our heads and ears.
Majestic pianos, sweet acoustic.
Pounding rhythms and hot blooded violin
Heart wrenching pauses and fades
Deaf or blind, innocent or lost.
It's always there.
It's always there.

Red Rover
Let's take a victory lap that lasts forever
Let's take hold of that word: forever.
Play hopscotch in the streets
Jump rope with everyone we see.
Let's get our flashlights out of our pockets
And spring into the sky like bottle rockets
It's the international day of laughing out loud
So let's make it happen every day now.
We need to break down into the freaks we were born as
Getting by with the light of our own plans
Because there's no time to waste thinking it over,
I call you over, red rover.
Let's not take this life sitting down,...

Try
The gaping hole in my chest feels awkward.
I wonder if people can see it,
throbbing, bleeding. Embarrassing.
After all the fights I put up, after the pain,
I'm not really surprised it's there.
It's a part of me now,
Constantly being ripped back open.
It hurts! It screams.
But who would help me?
That's why it's there in the first place,
there's nothing to heal it.
No remedy could deny it.
Nothing but my own free will.
My own free will?
I have nothing of my own.
I'm done believing the pain will end.
I'm done...

The Connection.
The best suit he wears is a law suit.
He's put together, with or without proof.
With his badge as his witness and a cherry wood cane,
He'll make you beg, beg, beg and plead insane.
The only dress she wears is a slip dress.
She's falling apart. A perfect mess.
With her hair in her eyes and a crooked smile,
She'll make you cry, cry, cry, and run for miles.
Fire! Fire!
He runs to his car She Runs away.
He turns on some lights. She screams for help.
Tires screech Shoes squeak

Flames
Wallpaper peels off the walls
The carpet twists in intricate designs
The TV falls and explodes,
sending beautiful sparks into the open ceiling.
Smoke gathers and spreads,
swirling and breathing all the oxygen there is.
The lampshades make more light than ever,
the blankets are finally warm.
The piano snaps and crumbles,
it's wooden carvings on the floor.
Now we're running, running, running.
Where are we supposed to go,
when it's so cold outside?
Where are we supposed to breathe?
Where else is there?
Back home, where ashes...

These are the lies you spit.
Take back your butterflies.
Here are the false hopes you left.
Inside are the fake smiles that led me on.
I was never that girl.
I wasn't even human.
We never touched like the others.
No one saw my blush and wondered.
But we both knew where it was going.
You could have prevented this.
So take back your pocket of dreams.
My faded jeans can't carry them.
These are your dark eyes.

My hands are tapping on the dashboard
Our arms are flying out the windows
We're screaming out love songs
because tonight, anything goes.
It's time to let our hair fall down and toss it around.
It's time for all the bullshit to leave this town.

And shout and shout and shout to the sky!

Held by the last echos of his voice,
I am alone here. Imprisoned by choice.
A new aching wound throbs in my chest,
and my eyes are cracked without rest.
I'm burnt out and alone
A joke. A drone.
I'm selfish, done hoping.
Ruined. Moping.
I try to hold myself together. I can't let it shatter.
