The surface you’d think was happy, strong, independent
In this life now led
Events caused choices that were made
Have come with the greatest sacrifice, sadness and sorrow.
 
A lonely lie of a life
Unable to share or gift the wealth of goodness that is within
But constantly craving a need to give, to love and to be loved.

Can finally see why such a special union was regularly rejected
Easy to see why when one, it was so beautiful
Yet couldn’t understand when separated why the cold and cruel would come
And why the good were so few.

What a pathetic waste
What a pathetic shame

Thought you were bad from the start – but I couldn’t resist
A magnetic attraction – chemistry was off the chart
Nothing else mattered – you were in my life
In each other’s arms – the only two in this world
Felt so good so real so right – reciprocated
Fell harder than ever – entirely consumed
Could this be love?  – thought I knew what that was
Different from the others – never with such intensity did I want and need

How could you not feel it? – was it all in my head?
Perhaps you felt it too – did fear of love steer your deeds?
Can passion like that...

Dark clouds still remain
But its ok, knowing the truth is setting me free
I’ll take a day at a time
Hour by hour, minute by minute if I must
Slowly they will vanish
One day completely gone
Nothing more but a very distant memory
Leaving the sun shining upon my glory

Must have been my punishment
For past misdeeds
I instantly regretted
But I had learnt that it was wrong
No matter what the driving force

Feel secure taking comfort
Knowing I did no wrong
Shall receive no more bad
Shudder to think how much you owe
