POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Ebola- the infamous killer
I've watched indifferent people talk about it on the TV hung up on a wall in my palour
I've seen exasperating pictures of its victims. Pores running out of countless boils on their bodies. Blood pouring out of their noses or ears or mouths
I've read articles on doctors & nurses getting infected by the virus after caring for quarantined patients. They themselves became patients and were then quarantined
People talked, people got infected, new people get infected, infected people get quarantined, then they die
Ebola kills.
(Good news; Zmapp)

a void
Sometimes i crave to be alone-
i long to be free like the wind;
wheezing lightly through space.
Or like the sun-
now warm, now gone.
But when i am finally free-
free of love & hate,
sadness & happiness,
grace & bitterness,
light & darkness-
free of the bonds caused by them;
Free of smiling faces,
of caring glances &
loving touches.
Atlast alone,
finally in silence &
drenched in indifference;
all too familiar -
my heart aches.
It aches as if it's hurting.

As Above So Below
it all becomes clear in the end;
the vain evaporates to smoke,
the real molds to steel
mirages dissolve
all love liquifies
and loneliness shall be crowned..
a defeaning silence hits the stage
when the curtains close;
the end is sad
the end is dark
and it is like water, life-giving
and it is like earth, heart-warming
and like life, it gives anew
and like death, it takes all

above all else i must not lie to myself
Above all else i must not lie to myself.
If i sin, i should tell myself i have
sinned and have taken a sidestep to
the left towards hell. If i do good, i
should mark it in my mind that i have
earned a small amount of weight to
add to the right scale on my balance.
I must not lie to myself above all else.
If perhaps i find the capacity to
tolerate a spiteful thing i must not
forget to frown inside even when a
smile graces my face. And if
perchance i burst out in anger and
leave myself vulnerable to my

The Chase/Dark Shadow
Borne alone with my shadow
in the confines of space
empty and
Infinite it seems, endless.
How I long to be free
but that cannot be;
Like a trapped bird
in an iron cage,
I scratch the cold metal
in a quiet rage
shackled, the chain
doubles its weight on my
lonely soul
And
no matter--
on foot or feather--
how fast or far i run
the dark shadow of mine
will follow-
through night and day,
through winter and summer;
In the autumn of may
and in the freezing december,
it follows and...

not to be
"not to be!"
a soothing voice rang out in my head
when, as I was reading, my tired sight
fell on Shakespear's riddle

Speak of love, pure.
1.
Noise is condemned to be named so
Only when the sound is undesirable
And Silence with all its glorious virtues
Cannot compete with masterful melodies
2.
No sound is sweeter to hear
And no melody masterful enough
To be recognised beside the voice of a lover
Confessing love to dear beloved
3.
Give voice to your love
If your love rings through and true,
Even if it is the fable words you utter
"Dear beloved, I love you"
4.
If only the knowledge of the unknown becomes clear to the lover and the loved.,...

Dying
Today I have suffered
more than yesterday; I observe,
terrified of what lies along my path, my way--
My knees are weaker and my burdens heavier
Tell me dear reader, what awaits us, if not disaster !
My forelock deepens--darkens--
As i have stayed long in the dark, so it harkens,
As for the shadows casted
on the wall in the cave; How shall I, my soul, "save" ?
I am now too soft-- softened by tolerance--
Oh friend, do you have a little glue to borrow?
Compassion, sympathy, prayer, love, sorrow?
Cause sooner or...

Lights Fade Away
Lights fade away.
Maybe that is just what lights do,
Maybe all worldly lights eventually
loose the battle with darkness,
Maybe there is no other way to it;
All I know is;
Lights. Fade. Away.

Maybe all worldly lights eventually
loose the battle with darkness,
Maybe there is no other way to it;

A Wonder
A Wonder
With excess time on my hands to ponder--
The reason I write I wonder;
I'd rather other things to do
Than to put pen to colorless paper;
To trap a winged bird perhaps
And after admiring let it fly free,
Or to heal my soul beneath the shade of
nature's herbs-
The Oak and The Olive tree.
How often i bid myself stop
"Write one more then never more.
Or one day your sanity will pop
And you'll be lost for evermore !"
So why, oh why do i still write
Beyond the...

from my past to now
In my youthful follies gone
I stood away from crowds alone,
Loud and proud in thinking
I thought, the world to be sinking
In ice, and every stranger was dead and cold
Like the scriptures plainly foretold.
The world in depths of darkness was dark
And out of the darkness came no spark
Of light
So i inadvertedly became used to the night.
It was like I was buried in darkness then
And if anyone could see me from behind
Then his eyes is undoubtedly blind.
And has the world(since then) gotten worse ?
Yes. Now it is as ghastly as a ghost

Unmerited Complains
Oh yes, there have been complains from man
That God's generousity is short-handed and limited;
Since He is capable, we want to fly
Since He is capable, we want perfection.
But what would we get to not ask for more ?
What will it take to satisfy us ?
We were but a bloodcloth before we became flesh
And before that we were nothing, dead.
So why aren't we happy for our capabilities
to hear and see and taste and feel
and walk and.... everything ?!
Why aren't we happy that we exist ?
Why aren't we happy there is air to breathe ?
Oh yes,...
