i havent really had much experience with this sorta thing. mostly because im in middle school. but i love writing and i find that poetry is one of the ways that i express my self

the ratification debates
226 years ago
when our country first began
there were two groups that argued
bout how our country ran
one side argued for a government
central and fairly strong
while the other side wanted state governments
but are either of them wrong
the first side were the federalists
led by Hamilton, Mason and Jay
the second were the antifeds
with Mason and Henry to save the day
the government held some meetings
to try to ratify
the revised constitution
to keep everyone satisfied
five states voted quickly
but they needed a few more...

OBSERVATIONAL POEM

remember when.
Remember when.
Remember when the leaves rustled through the tree.
And the birds would sing their song throughout the day.
Remember when the sky was always blue.
And the water always crystal clear.
Remember when the children would run through fields.
And the parents would only worry about night fall.
Remember when there was nothing to worry about
Not a care in the world and only thoughts of the present.
The leaves have fallen.
The birds have flown away.
The sky is grey.
And the water murkier than the grossest swamp.
The children are stuck...

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

darkened woods
look at the woods filled with silence and grace
you can hear the pines rustling and creaking
yet if you're quiet enough you can sense a presence
it's the soul of the woods
butterflies fluttering across the pond
snakes slithering over the soundless ground
you find a forgotten doll lieing under the beautiful colors of moonlight,
you wonder what truth was found in this beautiful place?
what mistakes were made in these sleepy shadows of darkness?
what adventures where had while running through these woods.

darkness with in my dreams
font=Tahoma,Geneva][font=Verdana]in my dream
i was killing a path way to freedom
my arms bleeding like crazy
swords flashing before my eyes
i'm determined to be free of this place
i feel a jerk on my arm
i'm being dragged down!
a feeling of relaxation rushes over me
as the sword was pulled out of my back
the darkness flooded through me next
the cries and shouts fled my mind
a person whispered in my ear
"be at rest young one, true rest will find you soon"
a figure cloaked in white stood before me
it held its...
