Maybe
Maybe I've liked you,
just liked you,
for all of this time
Maybe it's been something more.
Maybe the day you held my hand,
and we ran across the street,
in the pouring rain,
hand in hand, wearing your jacket,
in the pouring rain.
And that's when I decided to fall for you,
and when you talk to me about your day.
Today you told me about how lucky you are to have her.
Usually I'm more than happy to listen to how beautiful,
wonderful, lovely, she is.
But today I'm sad. I wish I was her.
I want to be...

Real
I read this poem and it wrapped around my neck
It choked the last breath out of me and left me on the floor
It pulled me by the heart and whispered in my ear
And it all became clear and real to me
There's a point in depression where you stop trying
Where not wanting to feel blood dripping across your skin takes over control
Your eyes cloud over with tears and smoke and
Your mouth sewn shut and licked by desire
It's when the urge for a razor to split your skin carries you
And brings you to a meadow
And in the meadow the flowers...

my butterflies
so I said
I'm not doing okay, no
I'm not doing okay at all
And he said,
Well why?
And I told him about the butterflies
My arm is a meadow, and 9 butterflies roam
And my arm, hip and thigh are all the butterflies' homes
And sometimes in these homes, there comes a blade
So these butterflies stride into the rain and wash away
Then the marks of this blade leave dark reminders
Of how messed up I actually am
And I cried
The next thing I know
A picture comes my way

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

burnt
So there's this room
It's completely circular
No way out
No way in
I built this around myself on a cold winter evening
I'm still here
I'm still here
So in this room
The walls are bricks
And everything is old and has a warm feeling
And then I touch the bricks
And it's so cold, there are burn marks on my hand
It's so cold, I want more
It's so cold I press myself against the wall
My hips, thighs and upper arm
And suddenly I pull away
And it's covered with cuts and scratches and marks and mutilations...

you're little miss perfect
and I can't take it one more bit
I love you to death
you're sweet as can be
and that's what makes you perfecter than me

your thighs don't touch
your cheeks don't need blush
you're beautiful
your face, your hair, your smile
and you're skinny and perfect and everyone loves you for more than just a while
you're smart and classy

I am now a victim
Are you serious.
Are you freakin' kidding me.
So all of that,
"come and give me a hug,"
at the counselor's office
was just a lie.
My happiness is just a bug you can squish.
Easy.
Oh, I bet she doesn't mind.
She has to live with it.
You are a monster.
You only care about what YOU WANT.
What about what I WANT?
Are you my brain?
No.
Do you decide what I like? NO.
So, just because, you don't like my poetry,
means it's worthless,right?
MY JOY, is meaningless to you.
No, my self esteem....

My Fantasy
The first time I ever,
this makes me blush,
even as I hold your hand.
When we both went to the corner,
of the large cafeteria, and stood side
to side. We didn't know.
But we did.
I looked over my shoulder to see your eyes,
skimming the floor, leading up to my shoes.
Then turned around.
I came alone.
You brought your friends.
The small wooden table had layers and layers
of roses.
Yellows,
Reds,
but mostly pinks.
Which meant "crush."
A crudely drawn white sign leaned against a vase...
this makes me blush,

Hitting each beat
Each note
Lost in a flurry
of musical notes and marks
And resting on a velvety purple-orange sky

Scrunched faces
Emotional eyes feeling the words

Strumming
for love
Drumming for anger
Singing for joy

The sun is the color of ink
when it spills

its essence covers my soul
It's like I've been
renewed
but with a twist
Thrown
in the alley
wasting away
