POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I've been searching forever. For what? I don't know...but I've managed to find some cool relics to prove I'm on the right road.
I'm Convinced I'm Not Normal
Look, I don’t usually debate things when I’m convinced but you’re annoying me.
So you go about life believing what you say is superior? Sociopath much?
All I’m saying is that suicide is man’s only control over his destiny.
God said it is wrong. You don’t have a destiny. It’s his plan!
But if I kill myself then I can cut short His plan. Oh what an omnipotent God!
What good is it to live everyday knowing I will die?
I don’t serve any purpose here and I’m not happy here anyway.
Why live a useless life and be a burden to others in the end?
They live every day...

My tears no longer are my company.
My world is no longer my own.
My eyes behold the thing I never wanted to admit
And the reality of it all sends me into a downward spiral as I lay,
Piled on the floor and falling over myself; a corpse
And I dare ask what is tomorrow!
My kind heart is my death.
I believed I could change the world.
I believed in hope and life,
But kindness only uses and abuses.
Kindness only tramples upon my face offering hints
Of appreciation in return
They say that I have much to make me happy.
I shouldn’t let...

Epilogue (for my book Monarchy- in stores soon)
All things come around full circle when they should. Karma beats the dust brought by the sands of time. Every child eventually dances and every unrighteous flower withers; cold and dry solace. Every pointed finger falls and time…time she freezes as she so desires,
But we know that in times to come he who is a fool shall be a fool still, he who is righteous shall be righteous still, he who is devoid of understanding but wants it shall find it and the hateful hearts shall lay broken, shattered and trampled upon, ground into the sands of time like brothers, and frozen like the dust in a...

The Complication of Characterisation
Waiting for tomorrow to come walking to you
And you don’t try to live today.
Hoping time would hear you and
Open up his arms and let you
Live.
Not understanding that what you want is now; is here.
You try to live a dream that someone else wants to come
True?
Dreams that the person you’ve grown accustomed to,
The person that shares your soul has formulated
Within themselves.
Thinking your problems are all that are meant for you,
You let go of your only hope; self.
Tomorrow will come but you’re not ready.
Broken dreams.
Pick up...

Monarchy
Your future is bright, your future is sure.
You are tomorrow’s leaders.
You are the innovators of the future.
You are the prestige; the cream of the crop.
I’ve heard this every day for seven years.
Is it true Miss? Is it true?
How shall I understand brightness if there are no windows now?
How shall I lead if I’ve lived my life following you?
How shall I be sure when your actions make me question everything?
How shall I innovate if you tell me what to think?
How shall I be humble if you tell me I’m better than them?
I beg to differ.

Reflection
Mirrors;
They often tell you things you don’t want to hear;
Things you’ve known yourself but have spent years,
Trying to unlearn.
The thing about mirrors is,
They can only show you what is in front of them.
Mirrors have no life.
All you can see in them is that life that is you,
And when no life is left to be shown,
That death that is you.
Mirrors make no reservations and have no hesitations
In showing you you; all of you.
It’s as if the world were trying to retell your story,
Trying to make sense of all you give it.
And sometimes it...

The Little Things
So babe,
I was thinking.
When you get back home be sure to close the door.
When you get back home, be sure
that you remember why.
You've been on my mind since you
left;
but only because you've been on my mind ever since you came.
Thanks for the kisses;
the nights,
the kids.
Thanks babe.
And when you get back home,
remember that we love you.
I love you...
the key is under the mat and I can't take it anymore.
I miss the kisses,
the nights.
I'll keep the kids.
This love thing is way too hard...
I was thinking.
When you get back home be sure to close the door.
When you get back home, be sure

Progress
He said that it was a good idea.
He scanned my palm, cut my hair
and made me a clone.
I needed a kidney.
They said that would save me
so I complied.
I taught him how to walk.
I taught him how to talk.
He was mine.
And then one day in transgenic bliss
my life was blown away like a mist
over a mountain in the morning,
my glory short lived.
I was gone.
They never noticed.
He took my job.
It really was a good idea to clone myself.
The world would have lost a great accountant.

The Death of a Cyber Friend
Trouble was all it was.
Trouble.
The very blood flowing through your veins; trouble.
The very blood flowing through your veins; ice.
Hot ice. Enough to make me feel like it was real.
Hours of words in chat.
Not the useless crap we discuss with the people we think we know.
Real words. Real feelings.
Real enthusiasm. Truth.
Then time zones would slice our time
schedules would clash and sleep would become us.
If that was your real name, I miss that person.
The reality that I lost someone I never knew pains me,
but...

Desire
When nostalgia is too much and moving forward is impossible
I move into your thoughts and cripple you,
with the knowledge that you can't have what you want.

with the knowledge that you can't have what you want.

Goodbye
I've heard
that goodbye only hurts when you
know you would never have another hello
and that people should say later if they have faith
and never goodbye, because goodbye
is death.
We would joke about this.
You would say that it didn't matter.
You told me goodbye and always came home.
Then one night you told me you'd see me later.
Then next time I saw you was at your funeral in a box.
I bet see you later was what you meant.
I miss you.

I Should Write A Poem
I should write a poem
to comment on life.
To say that life is worth
living.
I should write a poem
to share what I feel.
To let everyone know that I am
filled with emotions I cannot describe.
I should write a poem
to tell a story about the dreams a little girl had.
To remind her that though she forgot them
they were never lost.
I should write a poem
to speak the truth.
To tell you I love you and show you
that nothing else is worth much to me
if you aren't there.
