First touch
There was no signal so the tv turned itself off at the end of the DVD
It's now pitch black in your room.
We lie facing each other,
closer together than we have been before.
We play our usual game of tracing our fingers up and down each other's arms.
The fear of rejection preventing me from voicing my feelings for you.
I know you feel the same as I do because your breath, hot on my cheek is becoming shorter as you become more aroused.
I slip my hand inside the sleeve of your T-shirt and trace your shoulder from back to front 'accidentally' brushing the side of...

Seventeen years
Seventeen years
To the day
You stole from me something that can never be replaced
My innocence
Viciously.
Violently.
You violated me
in the worst way.
You left me unconscious
Bruised...
Bleeding...
I was so small.
Four days after my eleventh birthday
Screaming...
Scared...
Your face is etched into my mind
The alcohol on your breath
The stubble on your chin
The words you spoke
Torment me in my sleep
Still...
Scarred...
They never caught you
How many others were there?
Was I the only one?...
To the day

if my heart had a choice
if my heart had a choice it would stop beating. broken beyond repair, each painful thud smashes the shards further into itself. so deformed, it's no longer recognizable for what it was. something that once glowed with happiness, no longer knows its purpose. barely functioning. it staggers though each day praying for an end. they say time heals all wounds, yet it still lies shattered in exactly the position it was left 11 months ago. involuntary breaths are torture, forcing pain every second of the day

slowly giving up...
Tears threaten to spill over, every second of my day.
For any reason.
Happy.
Sad.
Anxious.
They are always so close.
I feel so hopeless.
Aimlessly navigating my way through each day.
My only goal to make it to the next.
Its exhausting.
Unfulfilling
And by no means easy.
I torture myself unwittingly.
Replaying events in my mind.
Longing for something that is no longer there.
Trying to pinpoint the moment I lost it.
Obsessing.
Why didn't I see?
Every minute is a battle to keep my head above water.
To not...
For any reason.
Happy.
Sad.
Anxious.
They are always so close.
I feel so hopeless.

glint of steel
I sit here, alone with my thoughts.
A battle within me taking place, none should have to endure this torment.
I glance to my hand, at what is trapped between my fingers.
So small.
A weapon of mass destruction.
Wrapped in a sheath of waxed paper.
I peel the corner back and stare, mesmerized by the glint of steel. So bright in the darkness. How can something so small have such control over me? A single teardrop splashes onto the skin of my thigh as I realise I am being overpowered.
The waxed paper slips from my fingertips as I turn the blade over. Enticed...

unanswered questions
Where did i go wrong?
Why can't things work out?
Do i not deserve to be happy?
Am i such a bad person?
Every night i fantasise about death.
He comes and swallows my pain,
Eases my anguish,
Wipes my tears.
He promises a place where i can forget,
I dont have to feel,
A place of nothingness.
Infinite darkness where i can sleep undisturbed.
Eternal silence where i can escape my thoughts.
So tempting...
Do i believe him?
My life to date has been cruel.
Happiness short lived.
All energy spent on efforts for others....

My heart is trapped in a vice that very slowly and painfully tightens around it
I am lost:
I don't know what to do, which direction to turn. Every path feels impossible
I am blind:
No matter where i look, everything is covered in a thick layer of soot from a burning love of nine years so ubrubtly extinguished
I'm in pain:
A pain unlike anything i have experienced in my wretched life
I'm a fool:
For you, for love, for what was and what could have been

You stole my heart so long ago.
You took me by surprise.
The happiest years of my life i recieved in return.
Swept off my feet.
Rendered speechless with emotion
Your laughter, the most wonderful thing i have ever heard, is my favourite song.
The way our bodies melt together.
A perfect fit.
Like a glove.
Your touch shoots electricity through my veins.
Even after so many years.
Your beauty, ferociously snatches the breath from my lungs, every time i see you.

one half of a whole
i never knew it was possible,
To miss someone so much.
My heart does not stop yearning
And my skin burns for your touch.
I dream you are beside me
And when i wake i die.
Because you are so far away,
It hurts so much inside.
For more than half my life youve been
My best friend, soulmate, lover.
I really don't know how to cope,
One half without the other.
I'm so relieved we have a bond,
That god himself can't break.
Through all the tears and laughter,
I know you are my fate.

You ground up my bones
