POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Creative expression equals stress relief
Sleep Demon
The sleep demon stole my dreams
last night
Because Hell needed some new horror flicks
Caffeine and nicotine teases
with useless energy so early in the morning
Creeping around the dark house
Waiting for the sun to wake the world
Rehashing last night's robbery
Alone with hell fire scorched nerves
Finally the blue sky edges out the night
Pushing all the sleep demons back to hell
Where they sit all day...at the matinee
last night
Because Hell needed some new horror flicks
Caffeine and nicotine teases
with useless energy so early in the morning
Creeping around the dark house
Waiting for the sun to wake the world
Rehashing last night's robbery
Alone with hell fire scorched nerves
Finally the blue sky edges out the night
Pushing all the sleep demons back to hell
Where they sit all day...at the matinee

Grass
Haiku
My favorite childhood memory
The smell of cut grass
Inhale deep into my lungs
Now peace comes to me
And now as my favorite recreational activity
The smell of cut grass
Inhale deep into my lungs
Now peace comes to me
My favorite childhood memory
The smell of cut grass
Inhale deep into my lungs
Now peace comes to me
And now as my favorite recreational activity
The smell of cut grass
Inhale deep into my lungs
Now peace comes to me

The Alcoholic Clock
He yawns and sits up in bed
reaches over and takes his first swig
Before morning feet hit the floor
his Methadone is fished out of the drawer
Morning begins as the bottle wets his lips
and he sips coffee casually commenting on my hips
The clock on the wall is forgotten
Last night’s vomit smells so rotten
The brown liquid is the new hourglass
Another long day is in the forecast
Every hour equals one inch
My stomach turns to knots as I winch
I can tell time by that 1.75
It’s all I can do to survive
as he nurses the...

The Two Syllable Experience
Oh God
Do me
Yes, yes
Right there
I'm wet
Fuck me
Faster
Deeper
Harder
Don't stop
Feels good
THANK YOU!

Our Perfect Circle
A Poem Dedicated to Blended Families
Written for my Mother
Stars spread their fingers
and shed it's dust upon the earth
A wise man collected the dust
and sprinkled it around him
As the sun rose
it's rays forged six golden letters
The man carried his letters
and gave them to a woman
No longer mine nor yours
together they held their pieces
of the alphabet until
God touched these two to be one
Through the One
we became many
The seasons form a perfect circle
giving the earth the...

Her Name Was Sexy
Ebony color glistening off her curves
Voice purring like a kitten
I had never loved another girl before
Her name was sexy
Every man wanted her
But I knew what turned her on
She would tease me
with that little top of hers...
I couldn't wait to take it off
She liked it fast and I couldn't resist
With my hair a mess
is the way she always left me
But she got me in a lot of trouble
So back she had to go
Sexy was the only girl for me
She was the queen of the new millennium

The Grave
Seasons passing in their time
watching plot number ninety-nine
Mourners stop to contemplate
should have stopped with ninety-eight
Silently hoping to be dead
Get those thoughts out of your head
Let others hear you in time
Do not become plot number ninety-nine

4532 Eastern Avenue
I was too young to testify
Forcing my insanity to solidify
In my own home I became a stowaway
As the madness became my every day
I remember it was a Wednesday
Smoke slipped from the ashtray
as he killed the cigarette
He could've ignored the threat
His evil message conveyed
as soon as he picked up the blade
A curved tip and jagged spine
made the 11 o'clock headline
Sibling rivalry to the extreme
I remember I didn't even scream
My uncle holding his torn middle
I remember I couldn't stop...

The Winding Road
Overwhelmed to look ahead
In clay wind my legs start walking
Dust blows by to cover me red
Shield my eyes to find the way
Confusing arrows tease and point
In the cross road is where I stay
Overwhelmed and paralyzed
With racing thoughts I stand still
Standing and staring for days gone by
The winding road persuades and pleads
Straight ahead and fast you must go
My legs start walking without a thought
Rain gently washes my eyes clear
Now clean of red dust
Overwhelmed still, I collect my thoughts
Arrow to the left is what...

Sand Angels
Snow will soon cover
all things unable to move
The playground welcomes
the last visitors with open arms
The toys anchored to the ground
wait patiently for me to play
The square little box
beckons me to join her
Slowly I dip in my toes
and jump in
I fall happily and let the
sand play with me
We make Sand Angels
The crowd turns
to laugh and point
"You can't do that in the sand,
get up and go away, why
doesn't she know?"
As I stand to admire my Sand Angel
Her wings falling back into funny lumps
I smile as I...
