LOVE POEM

Summer's coming, time to dream the day away
I was 15 on a Baltic Cruise and we had just left Stockholm
And she's so sunny is the girl you met today
She was called Jayne from the upper decks
Will she make it? can she take it?
She smelt of fresh green apples and she was looking only at me
Like to try love, such a shy love
We merely held hands and then danced very slowly
Ragged back street, leaning on the wall
I felt her warmth, can I be your girlfriend?
She weaves a story of her life before it all
She make me feel special
Did she give love? could...

Life is a continuous cycle of once-terrifying things ...
What is going on around me?
I need some explanations fast
Am I being creative or just plain frightening?
Are people scared of me?
Because of what I can do
Or because of what they fear, I may do
Am I the driver or the passenger?
On this bus of my life
How do I know?
Where is my check and balance?
Where does my ticket take me?
Why do I need a ticket for my own life?
Shall I toss it away or hand it in
Be lawful or reckless and hang the consequences
Can I really do this or am I about to fall on my face
Am I right in...

How Can I Tell You
I met you in 1991, now that was a good year
In fact it was the most incredible year of my life
I saw you for the very first time
You were what I had been searching for all my life and there you were right in front of me
From the moment I took your glasses off and looked into your amazing eyes
I knew that I was going to spend the rest of my life with you
Our lives were never going to be the same, we were going to look out for each other
No matter how stormy the seas got

I See You Now
I See You Now
Seven meetings until you felt relaxed enough to allow me to touch your face
I softly ran my forefinger over your jawline, your skin felt so warm and soft
The perfume was fresh and light
I stroked the nape of you neck, you seemed to like that and you trustingly closed your eyes
Nose to nose, and as I softly stroked your cheeks I felt the warmth of your breath
Time seemed to, well it really did not seem to matter
Your head turned to face mine
You were before me with sweet abandonment yet I still could not see you

Ever Wondered
How far have we come?
How much effort we made to get there
Sometimes planned
Often not
Sometimes slow
Often frenetic
Always loving
Well nearly always

Unsaid Words
As I look at you standing on the scales I am full of wonderment.
You are so beautiful I’m choked with emotion.
I see you standing with your chicken legs peering down and I feel so proud of you.
Your energy and drive inspire me.
I find you to be absolutely incredible and yet I simply watch you and do not say a word.
You may feel I take you for granted but I beg you please do not do that.
I have been hurt so much that I learned to lock in my thoughts and stay silent even when I know I should speak.
I trained myself to let the moment go hoping for...

Observation
You shower to wash off the work of the day
I watch you as your hands soap your body
A twinge of jealously that I am not showering with you
You allow the suds to wash off and the water envelops you
As you emerge from the shower I scan your body intensely
Your pink skin glows and the droplets glisten like glitter
The water drains along the contours of your body
Until it finds the delta of your pubic hairs
From that special triangle the water twists and turns
Mating and curling your public hairs
Into a final special curl
Leaving drops...
I watch you as your hands soap your body

The Full Length Mirror
The Full Length Mirror
As you left the steam room and hopped off the scales you caught a glimpse of yourself in the full length mirror. I’m in pretty good shape for even if I have got chicken legs you said to me as I sat on the bed.
You turned and took a long hard look at yourself in the mirror
I wonder what would have happened if I had never banged my head as child and turned my eye. I would have had no eye operation and probably would not need glasses now.
I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t had that bad fall and hurt my knee maybe I would have better a sport...
