Poet Introduction
I have been writing poetry since the age of 13 and have performed at the Nuyorican Poetry Café in Manhattan. I like to keep it real in my poetry and all of my poems are based on the rollercoaster ride of emotions that I go through on a daily basis.

Meetings
A baby bird and a caterpillar met in the winter
and became friends
The bird didn't know it could fly
The caterpillar wasn't yet a butterfly
But soon they both spread their wings and flew
Where they went nobody knew
A swan and a moth met in the summer
Both could fly
Both had wings
One was seen as beautiful
The other was not
They looked at each other and then looked away
Neither one giving another thought of the other today.

Singing Hearts
My heart was wrapped in barbed wire
you came along and set it on fire.
In the heat of the blaze
My heart softened when it came out of the flames
It became tied up in a ribbon and wrapped in a
pretty bow
Now it's aching to be free from the knot
You have in it's hold
Take my lips
Give them a kiss
Free my heart so it can beat its rhythm again
Hug me tight
Pull me closer
On this valentines day
Free my heart from this ache on this valentines day
So it can fly away with yours
Among the butterflies in the spring
Beating in melody...

Road Test
There’s fun and there’s pain
We’ve all seen the sun after it’s rained
But can we all agree to be free?
When what is free-dom, but a choice?
I know I’ve raised, my voice, for certain
To get out from under some rocks, thrown on me
So why not raise up, your own melody?
Pick up a shell, and hear the sea?
Throw back your head and laugh for a breath
Take another road test
To get away from where you’ve been...
And reach the stars like the rest.
We’ve all seen the sun after it’s rained
But can we all agree to be free?

Sweet Tea in Spring
Sweet tea hits my tongue
Tangy, fresh, rejuvenating, runaway leaves
Leaves on trees
Trees in soil
Soil that houses fertility
Fertility in flowers
Flowers in blossom
Sweet tea hits my tongue
One dollar from the Dunkin Donuts down the street
Streets that meet
Meet me in ease
Ease down paths of wonderlands
Wonderlands I’m creating even as I speak
Tangy, fresh, rejuvenating, runaway leaves

White Powder

I thought I deceived the deceiver
I was the one that got deceived
Lover where I’ve been and what I’m becoming you would not believe
You wonder where the money has gone and why it is I can’t breathe
I come up with all kinds of cover-ups so you’ll lend me another couple of bucks
So I can feel , a quick release
Never imagined I’d be living a double life and hiding it from you
You used to be my confidant but babe, if I confide this, then we’re through
That you’re girls addicted to a white rock in a long clear pipe
She smokes it in and breathes...
