On seeing an old man's green cords
Old man, where did you get those green cords?
The cut of your green cord slacks sends shivers down my spine
Those graven ruts which fall in lines so smooth and serpentine
The colour of green makes my knees go weak
It’s not like teal or tortoise shell turquoise or mint or leaf
It’s like mossy royal velveteen
It’s brash and brazen, yet endearing when faded
Old man, where did you get those green cords?
Do you think you could get your tailor to taper them in?
As long as they stay up I’ll buy them in any old size
Oh old man, you wear them with such...

I like to hold your words in my mouth
So although I sometimes say that I do not recognise you with your glasses on
From many different angles I am in love with your face
And with your eyelashes, and also with your eyes
From many different angles and in many fascinating fleeting spaces
I fall into looks and into places,
Which stay with me long after you have turned away
Sometimes you hold me with looks of perceptive intensity which
Sear through me to a point which catches-
Capturing something other than surface, something visceral and naked
When you fuck me...

Don't worry my sweet
Don't worry my sweet
As you lay alone
Crossing lazy boundaries
Between day dreams and dismal
They won't abduct you
If you keep all their secrets
Dumping your dreams
In secluded lavender fields
Left there to fester
Until a rainy day dawns
And daring momentum fades
Like lazy drizzle
Upon unknown bobbing heads
Down the street you used to know
As you lay alone
Crossing lazy boundaries
Between day dreams and dismal
They won't abduct you
If you keep all their secrets

said the dwarf to the angel
Forced frowns on a freckled face
The embodiment of innocence
Reincarnated in a drunk girl
Trying to tie shoelaces, which just aren't there
Can only eat whole peanuts
The angel laughs at the dwarf
Whose feet can't touch the ground
While she floats above, eternal and electric
A constant source of inspiration
The dwarf tries to grasp at the essence of the angel
With cheap wine and spicy lentils
Cucumber condolences and mixed up mustard mischief...
But she carries her in conscience
Confirming her crazy obsessions
Every time she hears an...

The Naked Lunch
The naked lunch
Lay sprawled slovenly
I covered my eyes to preserve your modesty
But you had none
What happened to manners and cultlery?
You ate with sticky fingers
Protruding suggestively
Licking in motions I knew
Though could not remember
I watched your left overs jealously
Wished you could fit me on a plate
The table was inviting
But you averted your eyes knowingly
Did it taste better than me?
Vegetarian blood is sweet
And I am ripe for the picking

In drugs and death we drown ourselves
Some advertisement for the young and living
The horrors of sleep lie heavy on me
If I don’t chase you up, I never settle
On the road I chase a thousand fantasies
Along neon strips of riding joy and beer caps
Summarise your love up in a play-list and learn it in your sleep
To seduce the wise or heady for whom you’re daydreaming sonny
Understand jazz when you’re young and the blues won’t drag you down
Make friends in a crowd and take them home
Don’t listen to the cool kids, jammy will never learn, watch him...

I often wonder if there’s time to change my mind
And why I always wonder
Graffiti patterns bring out the colours of our lives
Bridge for a view, gods of a pseudo city,
Amplified
Are we staying alive for the weekend?
It seems as though I may be,
But just from the edge
Through lowered lids you’re caught
Beautiful in black again
A natural traveller, tauntingly tamed
I lay down roots everywhere around you
Patting the ground where I fall, pacified
There will always be someone to follow
-I tempt temptation with an idle...
And why I always wonder

Madman in the Attic
There's a mad man in the attic
Playing out my footsteps in jazzy riffs
So mysteriously prophetic
I'm blindfolded and not falling
But I feel like I could fly
A puppet suspended from fraying threads
Straying in different directions deliberately
I dance around the room
Indifferent to gawping faces and awkward silence
Your secrets supplement this endless fighting melody
Of minds and your mistresses
Torment me with tales of promised love unrivalled
And neglected desires which fill me up till I tremble
With the injustice of such lost longing...

As your eyes keep time
Weighing me down
Purified in purges
Of heavy grey, solidified
We seek the sea for solace

The news breeds violence

a certain fleeting unity
Internal dialogue runs incessantly
While you roll a joint
And cringe at passers by
We find mutual meanings
In ramblings of Sartre
Or someone or no one
And write on our shoes
To prove indifference to the material and aesthetic
While I catch reflections in car windows
We condemn it all
Like ignorant prophets
And drink to the future
While living in the past
Take pictures trying to preserve this fleeting unity
You observe my scribbled summary of this transitory train ride
With amusement and sadness
At what you assume to be boredom...
