POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
The only thing I know is that I write because I need to.
Windsong II
Wind is roaring,
Wind is rushing,
Never ceasing,
Always screaming.
Wind is dancing,
Wind is prancing,
Always swaying,
Ever playing.
Wind is whirling,
Wind is swirling,
Never dying,
Always sighing.
Wind is whipping,
Wind is skipping,
Always lifting,
Ever shifting.
Wind is whis’pring.
Wind is whistling,
Always biting,
Ever fighting.
Wind is flowing,
Wind is blowing,
Always ringing,
Ever singing.
Wind is rushing,
Never ceasing,
Always screaming.
Wind is dancing,
Wind is prancing,
Always swaying,
Ever playing.
Wind is whirling,
Wind is swirling,
Never dying,
Always sighing.
Wind is whipping,
Wind is skipping,
Always lifting,
Ever shifting.
Wind is whis’pring.
Wind is whistling,
Always biting,
Ever fighting.
Wind is flowing,
Wind is blowing,
Always ringing,
Ever singing.

Daysong I
A beautiful glow
Fills the Eastern sky, setting
Golden fire to gray.
Fiery sunlight
Kisses the damp grass, setting
The dewdrops alight.
A soft wind rustles
The leaves of the slum'bring trees,
Stirring them from sleep.
Birds begin to chirp,
Twitter, and warble--soon the
Air is full of song.
Delicate flowers
Unfold their soft petals to
Embrace the new day.
The Sun leaps higher--
Every shadow flees in
Its brilliant fire.
The laughing stream greets ...

A Walk in the Woods
Through the thick green woods we walk,
Leaves crunching ‘neath our feet.
Voices hushed as we talk,
Our path straight and neat.
By the bubbling brook we pass,
Tall trees surround the clearing.
Look! a rabbit in the grass,
Its nest we are nearing.
A little fawn with soft brown eyes,
Stepping lightly on the moss.
To the forest we feel strong ties,
But now a bridge we must cross.
Along the narrow trail we climb,
Then stop, and sit to rest.
Look out on the view to pass the time,
For this next hike is a test.

Can You?
Can you count the stars,
Blazing oh-so-bright?
Can you count the stars,
On a cloudless night?
Hanging there so grandly,
Like a beach all sandy,
Can you count the stars?
Can you ride the wind,
Rushing o’er the plain?
Can you ride the wind,
O’er the rough terrain?
Blowing with such power,
Bringing sunshine or a shower,
Can you ride the wind?
Can you swim the seas,
With their sapphire waves?
Can you swim the seas,
Pass through dolphins’ ways?
Sparkling, shining, oh-so-bright,
Ripples waltzing with Sun’s light,...

Windsong I
Wind is a wondrous
thing, with many faces and
ways both soft and fierce.
Wind is a gentle
thing, delicate like a
baby's sleeping breath.
Wind is a mighty
thing, bringing ancient oaks
and pines to their knees.
Wind is a quiet
thing, caressing fresh new leaves,
whis'pring through tall grass.
Wind is a deadly
thing, whirling in tornadoes
and monstrous typhoons.
Wind is a singing
thing, rushing and whistling through
the branches of trees.
Wind is a giving
thing, brining dark rainclouds to...

Iceheart
She has perfect skin, golden with Sun's rays;
Sparkling eyes, emerald like Ocean's waves;
Ebony hair, black as Raven's wings;
And a voice that shames angels when she sings.
You'd think her heart would be Love's domain,
Soft and warm like the first spring rain.
But this is Iceheart, beautiful in every way,
Yet her heart's a cold and icy gray.
She has elegant clothes, made of sparkles and silk;
Delicate shoes, soft as creamy milk;
Manicured nails, buffed to perfection;
Mirrors glow with her reflection.
You'd think her heart...

Stormsong
Patt'ring, splashing,
Falling, crashing,
Rain pours down.
Spatt'ring, sliding,
Skating, gliding,
Droplets on the glass.
Leaning, twisting,
Groaning, creaking,
Trees bend in the wind.
Racing, rushing,
Scrambling, dashing,
People run for cover.
Crashing, smashing,
Striking, burning,
Thunder and lightning.
Weeping, whining,
Screaming, dying,
Tornadoes roar through.
Less'ning, lagging,
Slowing, drizz'ling,
The rain stops.
Falling, crashing,
Rain pours down.
Spatt'ring, sliding,
Skating, gliding,
Droplets on the glass.
Leaning, twisting,
Groaning, creaking,
Trees bend in the wind.
Racing, rushing,
