Making Love
To feel your skin against mine
is truly
a dream come true.
To breathe your breaths
and feel your pulse
as we become one
beneath your sheets,
silken against my thighs
as I caress
every inch of you,
making love to your soul
while reveling
in the beauty
of your body.
To feel your lips
brush against my skin,
leaving trails of fire
in their wake
sending shivers of ecstasy
throughout my body
and deep inside my soul
as I melt in your embrace,
captive
as you hold me close
for our one short...

Anorexia
She is made of numbers.
Not muscle
or bone
or god forbidding, fat.
She is only numbers
upon the scale,
tracing her arms,
her belly,
her thighs;
always shrinking
numbers going down,
but never quickly enough
for her to fully disappear
as she wishes.

Shadows and Blood
She woke with a start
To a room icy cold
Silent as death
Empty
Her pain throbbing
In the darkness, aching
Demanding to be felt
Her fingers explored
Her bruises
Her scrapes
Until the felt her silken sheets
Slick with blood
Her pale skin
Glowing in the moonlight
And splattered in red
Quivered
Shivered
In fear
As a shadow coughed
And stepped towards her
A gleaming smile
Emerged from the dark
Promising more
To a room icy cold

A Broken World
I see the world through a thousand eyes
I hear the lament of a thousand cries
Standing helplessly by while thousands die
Wishing I could save the world
I feel the scorn of a thousand eyes
I call out but deaf ears ignore my cries
Drowning alone as I wait to die
Cursing this messed up world
I hear the echo of a thousand lies
I see no escape, no matter how hard I try
Just wishing that I could say goodbye
But I have to fix this broken world
I hear the lament of a thousand cries

There is Beauty Within Chaos
A rose that blooms en wreathed in thorns
and battles to reach the sun
is more beautiful for its struggles
like a smile borne through tears
Vines that seem to choke the trees
and steal life from their branches
drape elegantly to the earth
and weave their unique patterns
A stream that cannot freely flow
but instead tumbles over boulders
and crashes, splashes, makes a fuss
turns noise into its melody
There is beauty within chaos;
Perhaps the greatest of all.

Memories
She can’t breathe; she can only cry. Her tears glide sideways across her face, up and over her nose. They leave cold, wet trails in their wake before dripping onto her pillow and soaking into the fabric.
She feels like she’s dying, gasping for breath, choking against the lump in her throat. She can’t stop herself. Coughing sobs shake her to the core as she curls up into a ball. She closes her eyes and wishes for the end of this pain, until her eyes run dry and her sobs subside.
She walks with heavy footsteps to the mirror where a mess of a girl stares back at her. Her face...

The Cold Moon
Thudding footsteps echo through the night as a scared little girl runs down the darkened street. Breathing hard, tears flowing down her cheeks, she has no idea where she’s running to. A racing mind as fast as her feet has no room for plans inside it; she acts on pure instinct as she looks for somewhere to hide.

The Report
The winter wind pierces my thin jacket as I shuffle down the sidewalk. My converse slap against the concrete with each step, the sound reverberating in my head. My breath trails from my mouth like smoke, marking my path so I won’t get lost if I need to turn around and go back. But I can’t turn back, there is only forward.
