I am known by many names
Bearded clam

The promised land

The Symptoms
head pounding
sweat forming
lights are too bright
I need it dark
I feel
tired
exhausted, really
I want to be
held
But I push away
without knowing it
Please hold me tight
in your strong, warm arms
loving me
but I flinch
and pull away
I yell at you
Confusion
I don't know why
I want to hurt you
I NEED to taste your pain
I need you to feel
What I do

DRUGS POEM

Taking back Control
They're going through my veins
I feel the sleep take hold of me
numbness settles in
all is quiet and still,
peaceful
The meds are running through my veins
like a dam that's been broken
clean, pure water rushing through
tearing down my walls, my endless
labyrinth of fear, anxiety
my sadness.
My cities of confusion
my homes and buildings full of rage,
cliffs to jump from
turn to mountains to climb
Lamotrigine embedded in my brain
I'm shaping my world
it's all washed down
A new world I'm making...

It's bright and open
No walls
No ceiling
Just open space
I am sitting cross-legged

My hair is brown now

I feel the heat of your stare

for the feel of you

Can't sleep tonight

Life is too short to spend it asleep
Racing thoughts
My heart beating fast,
free
I finally broke free of this weight on my chest
Making it easier to breathe and laugh
I'm ready to make up for lost time
I want to run a marathon
Write a book
Wash my car
Take a shower
Clean the house
Change careers
Fuck a thousand times.
So much to do
But I can do it now
My brain keeps pumping ideas left and right
No one can keep up with me now
