ANGER POEM

slanted
Ive seen things...
Things so slanted
my path sat at eye level
as i walk up towards the sky
clouds covered in white out
artificially blue skies
watched gradients of gray
chase them away
as the white out dripped
onto my face
still could not correct my embarrassment
my heart at one point
ed future's bright direction
an opportunity that was
the blossoming of shriveled pride
watered yet,
sunshine was the sweetest taboo
she got full access to my dreams
held my aspirations in her palm
...

A Shame......
Its a shame....
there are alot of single mothers
bigger shame...
most of them are black
its like being a father
is poison
for black skin
too few of us have found the antedote
its said locking eyes with a new born at birth
is the glue bonds for life are made of
if only he were present at the birth
rather than planting the sibling
in the mother's sister
where is your respect
thrown on the floor
like the rest of your garments
still wearing a thick coat of guilt
too heavy to ignore
look in the mirror...

Once we were kings.....
We were once kings
Amongst treaders of the Nile
Raped from land built with brown hands
Forced to build a home
felt like the opposite
For we still could never call it
our own
Regarded as animals
Kept in shackles
To confine our bodies
Keep tabs on our minds
Names thrown around like trash
Birthing an alias
trigger to our demise
Centuries post devastation
A name fabricated to demean

Excuse me.......
Excuse me,
do you have some time to spare?
like the lives of murderers
holding at gunpoint
Stereotypical assassins
Candy coated weapons
injustice found in justice
felt the bullet piercing
listen to my heart stop beating
wiped her tears
fingertips she longed for
enforced blindness of a society
can't see beyond colored lines
skin color has no precedent
trial of the murder....of....a....teenager
shot down for no reason
while he stood his ground
in the seat of a car
riding on laws that make no...
