Rats
Rats in my hair, every loop
Rats fall to the floor and into my soup
Every spoonful, every ladle
Every suck and every cradle
They keep me sane when there's no one to care
They keep me warm at night when no one is there
They crawl up the sheets and onto my bed
And make their nests right in my head
Rats on my shoulder, rats at my feet
Rats and their sound "reet reet reet"
They tell me their secrets and I tell them mine
They are the keepers of my thoughts and I feel fine
I understand them and they understand me

Warrior Pose
Heart pounding like a drum sounding war.
The fiery feeling emanating from my core.
Exhale forcefully, my lungs burst like over-filled balloons .
My eyes are wide open just like my wounds.
My teeth crackle like fire. My knees buckle then lock into place.
I will stand and defend from all sent disgrace.
Screech and lunge like a banchee unleashed.
If only in my head is as far as I can reach.
Spear and dagger one to a hand.
Each foot perched to leap from the sand.

Obstruction
A sea shell I found in my solitude.
I perch upon a boulder in a solace mood.
The sun bathes the wake rocks revealing a picture so serene,
in a perfectly luminous shade of emerald green.
I look out far and my eyes wander back again,
what distraction begs my attention I lend?
I'm drawn to an object, unnatural
but somehow to humanity so regrettably infatuable.
Bobbing near the shore line
half full of empty,
and not a drop to which contained be a lick of empathy.

proudly on the tide it does ride.

Balançoire de Jardin
In our garden
the birds do chime,
the flowers grow,
and your love is mine.
Swinging gently
to and fro,
in the cup of our hammock
away the world does go.
The only prying eyes
come on the wings of butterflies, but their mistake they realize
and quickly off they rise.
We are one here
as anywhere we go,
united by the hip
and by the seeds of love we sow.

A Light Passing
The night I died a ghost was born.
Roaming an earth that's never been so forlorn.
From an unsteady light, I shied with doubt.
Closer to the comfort of darkness until it strobes out.
Empty castles now I roam.
Just as in life I am alone.
Floating past a wardrobe, moth eaten.
Drift past a mirror reflect a frightful cretin.
I moan and yell to whom I do not know.
Bleating like a dying lamb pecked by a crow.
Death was comfort, solace, and clarity.
Or so it was sold by those begging charity.
Death was nothing. An energy phasing to pass.
