Can you save me from myself?
I'm drowning in my own dripping blood.
The rough evidence is unnerving,
And it washes over me like a flood.

I drank the poison. I am already gone.
I've slit the skin , taken it away.
I was nothing but moss on a stone.
And only with the wind did I sway.

The beats slowed. The breath shortened,
As my eyelids fluttered to whisper, "Goodbye".
I laid back my head and took my last breath.
Everyone has a turn.
It is mine to die.

She lies awake, wishing it would end,
Romancing the thought of death.
Yet her chest still rises and falls,
And she draws in another breath.

She stares at the blank walls,
Remembering the gentle words sang,
No one knows of her hurt,
And behind her smile, lies her pain.

She opens her broken wings,
And dresses in tattered clothes.
Revealing her shattered dreams,
But consuming her hidden hopes.
