Setting Sun
A strange feeling took over me
As I opened my eyes
I watched and stared
The warmth on grass lies.
I touched it to my fingertip
What wondrous feeling!
I sighed and gazed at the sky
I watched the sun bleeding.
Upon an old log beside me
Stood a young crow
Watching the sun setting
Eyes shining with things it knows.
So enraptured it was!
That it took flight
And spread its wings wide
Straight into the fading light.
I only wish that I had wings
So that I too may take to the sky
To see that crimson sun so...
As I opened my eyes

The Dawning
Amidst the morning mist
I glimpsed the dawning sun
My heart thrummed in my chest
It was my soul, my only one.
Across the shaded sky
Across the coloured expanse
There lies the moon
Graced in celestial dance.
I am lifted, inspired!
Imagination runs wild
My breath is trembling
I watch with wonder of a child.
But the dawn cannot stay forever
The day must move on
So before they depart
And the beauty gone.
I looked up at those two
One fading in the sky
And another being bold
Painfully so I raised my...

The Flow of My Writing
Behind pale sky, dark clouds
Strikes the sharp lightning
Somewhere there
Lies the flow of my writing.
Amidst the cries and noise
The blood of fighting
Someone there
Sees the flow of my writing.
Among the scent of lilies
The sense of dying
Something there
Hears the flow of my writing.
Along the black alley

Broken Mirror
I am the nothingness in all
The broken mirror on the wall
Seeing into every single soul
But never able to be whole.
Passing through the looking glass
No eyes notice that I pass
I'll never answer what you ask
On my face there lies a mask.
I am the missing piece no one will find
I am the hidden crack within your mind
I am the little part inside of you
Only seen by an unlucky few.
Always felt and ever forgotten
Possessor of a heart so rotten
Look in the mirror you don't see
Never able to recognize me.

Watch your words
Or they'll tear me apart
Watch your words
Lest they stay in my heart.
I've become the ashes in the flames
That is how I love thee
I love thee with a passion that
Makes light of the sun's intensity.
Curse the words from thine lips
That convinces the air to hide
I love thee to a height I cannot describe
For the life in my lungs has yielded and died.
I am sustained by your divine words
Exclaimed or shouted, whispered or spoken.

The Changing Heart
Take this mouth that speaks
Take these eyes that see
Release your endless torture
Let oblivion take me.
Should I ever wound thee
Should my hand ever hit you
Do not hesitate even once
Lift thy blade, cut me through.
For I cursed myself for you
To allow such tormenting agony
Rip me apart, make me
Exactly who you want me to be.
I don't want to be that person
Whether insane or sane
The kind that knows nothing
The kind that causes you pain.
Welcome, kind yet cruel savagery

A Writer's Apple
I write on the blank pages
By light of a candle in a skull
Everything is black and white
Life is starting to look dull.
I stare at my messy words
My quill in my hand
I think about my life and work
A hollow soul in a hollow land.
I trace my fingers over the ink
I breathe deep and sigh and moan
Thinking of how my world is
My life and soul, empty, alone.
Then I see an apple
Shiny, bright and gleaming red
I stare at the colour in wonder

The apple tumbles off the edge

Entering your bed chambers
Deep within the night
Dost thou notice me?
Basking in your dark light.
I love you with an obsession
My heart seems to miss
Breathing over your lips
All I want is you tender kiss.
The moonlight decorates your hair
Like my caresses decorate your skin
Inhaling the scent of you
Filling myself with fragrant sin.

Waterhole
We were young
And so in love
You took me to the waterhole
And I stopped to stare at a dove.
I don't know what happened
Perhaps it's my own clumsiness
I fell in the water and you did nothing
I as flailing in panic and sadness.
You stood there like you didn't care
Though you knew I couldn't swim
I struggled to breathe, watching you
I felt my eyes begin to dim.
The eyes you used to love!
Don't you love my eyes anymore?
You assured me that you loved me
But I guess that was before.
A fire crept up my fingertips...
And so in love

I don't see a commoner
Neither do I see a royal
I just see you
My one most loyal.
You think I don't understand
You're dangerous, of course
You do terrible things in insanity
But afterwards feel remorse.

Are the most beautiful I've seen
Even though sometimes it makes you
Ruthless, cruel and mean.
