POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words. -Robert Frost
Broken Cinderella's
Take my hand, hold it tight
For tonight is the end of all we know
It is the end of all we ever
deserved and had wished for
Twilight is the wake of the
derailed monster in us
It is the time for black
eyes throbbing with rage
No hesitation will breach us
when it comes to destroying trust
We'll smear the walls
with its intestines
Painting the windows shut
with shredded hearts
Rain drops of blood will
roll in meandering paths
At least now the
view is realistic
Maybe we should blind ...

Imagination
I keep iron shackles clasped tight
on this imagination of mine
However much it pleads, curses,
and begs, I mustn't give in
Eventhough it tells me that
if I steal its life away
Leaving a chasm with only walls,
stained with sticky crimson
That the screams will echo
in that hollow cage forever
What is another death
in a world of statistics?
Where if there really was
monsters under the bed
Some children would lie
there as a free offering
Maybe the stars are not
really guardians that kindly...

Dancing on thin ice
It is two-o-clock in the morning
My throat constricts as I wait
Tears of anticipation hover on
the verge of overflowing
The world was never worthy
enough to keep you
It squeezed the life out of you
in brief fits of jealousy
You were too fragile to be
gripped like that
Reduced to ruin before I
could reach you
You stared without seeing
Your eyes were dead with the weight
of a thousand grievances
Never to be known to any of us
Maybe that was the
way you wanted it to be ...

My conscience
Scrabbling for purchase in this barren wasteland
Something to hang onto so it wont
leave me void of direction
Becoming sand slipping fleetingly almost
Effortlessly through my fingers
Beads of panic dot my brow,
My body shudders with the exertion
That carrying this mask of
content demands
My conscience has turned against me
brandishing its noble
Sword saluting to the devils on my shoulders
Having already rid me of the halo
Commanding me to writhe along this
path of self destruction
The better to...

Red tear drops
Red tear drops wither down the inside of my wrist
Bypassing veins throb rudely outwards
Threatening to burst out of my paper-thin skin
The pain clears the fog that has settled into my thoughts
Dampening my progress and dragging it to hell
To feed to the poor, long-lost souls down there
They need it more than I do.
Maybe I'll become one of them,
clawing at their cursed eyes
Because the sunlight is suddenly too mocking
In its illuminated view of opinion
How dare it preach about good and evil,
When it slinks away at...

Darling don't you fall asleep
Darling don't you fall asleep
Kill me with your crushed eyes beforehand
I don't want to be there with only a shell
Of all this shrouded life, turned limp and loose
Like the straw rope in my minds eye.
The secrets you steal away,
are so cryptic in their compassion
In the hunger for the shock of the righteous
Be careful, it has started to consume you
The threads of sanity holding
you together are thinning
Fraying with the tension of
well-hidden sadistic truths
I drift mindlessly through
this...

China hearts
The music caresses the sadness
that nestles me in the crook of its arm.
Swaying gently, softly, slowly.
One, two, three, one, two, three.
I hear the sound of china hearts cracking,
somewhere through the ocean
of viola's trilling.
Hold me closer, pull me near.
Don't be so cruel to let me wake,
so I tumble into the shards of
those delicate pieces.
Cutting my skin,
but no blood is forthcoming
because the dead don't bleed.
Tranquil smiles tug at my lips,
invisible strings
being pulled lightly. ...

The lightning is coming- Beware, beware
Standing on your quilt of dirt
Paying respects to that granite slab
An insult to all you stood for
All of your vivacious colours now mellowed
Into the shade of a stormy sky
The lightning is coming- beware, beware
Saluting my spade of silver metal
With seventy times seven claps from the heavens
Forgive me Jesus, God, and any of the others
That claim they exist in this sphere of catastrophe
My bruised feet run a path to hell
The truth is out to get you, his sharp teeth drawn
Ready to pounce on the unsuspecting,...

I'm sorry (Hush, Hush)
Fiery candle, why do you flicker so?
Quivering naked in the moonlight
Leaking wax tear drops that harden on your skin
To stay there as a reminder,
of the torture I put you through
I'm sorry, but I need the warmth
That your death can give me
Please forgive me little candle,
I know you're perturbed
By the slowly forced suicide
I am making you endure
I only do it to see how it feels for them
Killing softly, silently (hush, hush)
It's such a beautiful way to die
With the lively orange dulling ...

Sort-of smile
My mouth is stuck in this sort-of smile
Cramps aching the curved moon creases
I try to make my eyes light up the way they used to
But now it takes on a different meaning
As they are always lit up with the salty sheen of bitterness
That burns behind the back of my iris's like a bonfire
Sometimes the smoke throttles me
My breathing resorts to wheezing as the blistering
Dark grey tendrils choke me into obedience
No-one sees my despair, they never will
So easily cradled by the belief of my happiness
As they only see what they want to see ...

Fear that used to rule me
My heart beating as I imagine the
fear that used to rule me
Conquered me from my moral high ground
Tossing me into the ice cold debris
that used to be my kindness
Everything inside me is at a standstill
Has been for so long now
My past emotions have started to crumble
Into nothing but a sensation of the far away
and faded inactive eyes don't acknowledged
the world moving on.
We're stuck in the time when
the loving turned cruel
And left me to fold back inside myself
As bombing planes whirled above me ...
fear that used to rule me
Conquered me from my moral high ground
Tossing me into the ice cold debris

Quiet
The loudness of the quiet floods your ears
Making them throb with the pain of the words
That occasionally fills that empty mind
They grasp greedily, clenching
your attention in their fists
Whispering lies in hushed voices
So not to wake up the memories
from their temporary slumber
Exhausted from their horse
throats and red rimmed eyes
You can't tell truth from false
Everything has molded into one
No-one seems to notice how
long you have been gone
Owned by this maze of
trickery and deceit
