Madam Lark of Night
Sweet Madam Lark of Night
What pleasures may I bring you?
What sensations satisfy your desire?
Why does only my pain ignite your fire?
Oh Mistress Philomela
Why do these tears please you so
While the passions pouring on the floor
From between the beats of my fractured heart?
My raptor nightingale
Your talons tare pleasure’s howls
Deep through my back out of my grinding teeth
Collapsing to my begging, bloodied knees
(*see note in comments below)

RIP Mom
My mother passed away last night. She just turned 80 on February 11th. The last year she has been a blessing for me and likely saved the life she gave to me. I was in terrible dire straits since having a stroke one year ago, the day before her birthday and I was unable to live on my own for quite some time. When the money ran out because I could not work and disability was busy denying me benfits, which I am still fighting for, she gave me a place to live, rent free when I could no longer pay my rent and got booted out by my landlord in Schenectady. So I have been lving here in Saratogae...

Warmth from the Heart of Mankind
Warmth from the Heart of Mankind"
(for the "HOW HOT WAS IT?" competition)
It was so hot I wore no sweat
Its drops evaporated into the clouds of thunder
So hot was it I felt a chill
When the howling winds and rain washed over skin
Cracked and dried from uncommon fire
Breathed down on Earth from skies too bright
For even clouds to shadow white skin seared brown
Rivers once fed life with greenery
Thirsting one moment then flooded and drowned the next
Homes lost neath raging waters
Then left low and dry neath Sun...

Gun Control (competition entry)
The problem wit fighting fire with fire comes when there is a drought of sanity. Instead of a controlled burn, it becomes a raging forest fire that burns until there is no more fuel to ignite. Guns will continue to fire until there are either no more guns or no more people to pull thier triggers.
There was a time when people carried guns on rheir hips, and yet people still used them to kill each other, even have duels in the streets to settle differences. They used them to comit robberies and murders and all sorts of crimes. And yet, NRA members will try to convince you that we...

So Be It!
I often think of Thor in times like these. It may seem silly to equate life to a comic book character, but I suppose you have to realize why I feel so strongly about Thor. It goes back to my childhood. I learned to read in pictures when I was three years old and discovered my big brothers comic book collection. The first one I picked up was Thor and the second was the Avengers. These super heroes would sacrifice anything, even themselves to save others and only fought when there was no other option. Their sense of compassion and humility seemed at odds with being powerful and admired, but...

Journal entry 2013
I am beyond boggled in my mind today. I find myself ready to disown my family over their audacity and self-centered behavior as well as their complete disregard for my exitence. Not that I am surprised by it, I have known them all my life, but somehow they never cease to amaze me. It really started way back when I was in high school. Maybe earlier, but I was probably just oblivious to their behavior back then.
In matters of money, I can never be sure if it is greed or just plain inconsideration for others, or just another means of implimenting control over me. When I was 16, I...

A New Beginning
The end of an era
Another day completed
A sunset on a red horizon
Leading into darkness
Every day leads into darkness
Until the dawn comes along
Unknown shadows
Lurk around every corner
Until enlightenment scares them away
When each new day is born

Politics
TIME – Executive Editor Michael Duffy is wrong! Wrong on a Constitutional level! He Said on Meet the Press at 11:08zm Sunday morning, 12/16/12, that Bob Costas should not get involved in politics. Bob Costas was right and Bob Costas should be involved in politics! You should be involved in politics, I should be involved in politics; every American voter should get involved in politics beyond casting a vote. Who should be in politics; who is the government, politicians or the people? Somebody famous once said the government is “of the people, by the people and for the people”. JJ

Deleted forum posts on hate
I'm not sure why, but a recent forum was deleted and I don't see it in the boiler room, but I had saved my posts from it, so I decided to post them here as a journal entry. Here is what I had posted there.
------------------------------------------------------
Well, until recently, I thought I had hate all figured out, and then there was a report on 60 minutes a couple of weeks ago where they did a study with children at different ages to find out when people started hating and why. As it turns out, hate is not a learned trait, we are born haters. This flies in the face of...
