You turn up the music to drown out the noise. The never ceasing thinking. Horrid thoughts, swirling, lashing, forcing their way to the front of your mind. Your head thrashes as you clutch your ears. You turn the music louder, hearing your ears ring as a warning to turn it down. The thoughts mimic the music and swell ever louder.

Tainted
These wounds won't heal.
They won't stop bleeding.
I've bandaged them.
I've taken care of them.
But they won't leave,
Won't heal.
They still ooze blood,
Constantly taining everything.
I stitch them up.
I bandage them.
I clean them.
I prevent infections.
But it always comes back.
Sometimes it gushes,
Others it just barely oozes.
They won'r go away.
Right when they seem healed
I find them, gushing blood.
I suppress it, push it back,
Try to stop the bleeding.
But it never stops
Never...
They won't stop bleeding.
I've bandaged them.
I've taken care of them.
But they won't leave,
Won't heal.

I want you to hug me.
I want you to hold me and never let go.
I want you to feel towards me how I feel towards you.
I know it won't happen.
I know I have no chance with you.
So I'll settle for a simple friendship.
Friendship is better than nothing after all.
Besides, your heart belongs to another.
One who came before me.
You belong to her.
And she belongs to you.
Regardless of doubts.
She wronged you.
Yet you don't attempt to get revenge.
You stay faithful when she could not.
It's admirable.
It's sweet....

Goodbye old friend.
If you ever were a friend.
I'm not angry.
I made sure I was not angry when I decided.
Words said in anger mean nothing.
So here is my honest word.
Not spoken in anger or spite.
I don't hate you.
I don't hate her.
I don't hate them.
I hate the actions.

And the pressure.
The pressure to be who I know I'm not.
I have my choices to make.

Why do you feel the need to lie?
Why must you lie to me?
What have I done to you?
You know I hate being lied to.
You know I hate it when you lie to me.
You know I hate liars.
And still you lie.
You lie to me.
You lie to others.
I don't lie to you.
I don't think I ever have.
And I never would.
I would take a bullet for you.
I always respected your space.

You open the door and peek in. Gaze upon the mess I made. Blood pouring all over the floor chucks of skin missing. I look up sheepishly as your expression changes. I look back down at my mess, half clotted blood on the floor, I didn't know I could bleed so much. I expected to be passed out by now. These scars
These scars run deep. Far deeper than skin. Much deeper than shown. They run through the skin to the muscles. They run through my memories straight to my brain. I avoid the jagged edges, avoid getting cut deeper... but they haunt me, these scarred memories hunt me down and attack me... they debilitate me and render me useless... they torture me and try to kill me...
