LOVE POEM

red band
That little red band around my wrist
that tiny lie I tie to myself
just like at tattoo i cannot remove
upon it my life shall ever rest
it symbolises something that doesn’t exist
as life has formed a dastardly cyst
i convince myself that i’m just weak
and that everyone can have their piece
but as my mother leaves
i cannot help but sob and grieve
for i know that the dream is over
for happiness will never settle
sweet girls have tried
but it’s all in vain
beauty to me is all but slain
for never am i good enough
and never shall i be...

my day
The voice’s in my head
Taint it everything shades of red
Waking moments now so daunting
I just hope I’ll tide over
Hauling myself from my bed
To the shower
As naked as I feel inside
Curled up on the floor
How much longer can I hide?
I cannot forget
Will not forgive
Like a recurring nightmare
My day begins
I step through the common room door
And the walls start closing in around
The peoples stare piercing to the core
Swallowing the paranoia down
Right foot first I tell myself
As I almost forget how to walk
Trying...

Never give love a name
For the fall is always harder
When you fall from fame
You’ll find that you miss her
With intense passion and yourself to blame
When all lust and desire set in
A burning obsession of desperate shame
Out of control you'll swiftly spin
Like an addict just off the needle
With your surrogate heroin
You never were so feeble
Addicted and you can't control the reign
It’s got you tight now you're just a slave
This is love welcome to the game
Now you walk the path you pave
With your craving driving you insane...

where were you?
So tell me where were you?
Whilst I was torn asunder
after all we went through
What cause as to blunder?
Now I’m left to walk alone
am I too much?
The hole in my heart grows
I say goodbye to the life I used to know
maybe I’m better of this way
maybe just maybe
I just wanna leave the ‘what ifs’ behind
but that’ll kill what little hope still remains of me and you
the memories playing like a movie in my mind
exhausted, ailing and run through
at the side of this very long road
nowhere left to go
burdened with this...

Lies
On this green hilly mound
Thousands a brave
Found their fate bound
Sent to their graves
And now here we remember
Their fateful sacrifice
Story books now only tell
Of their fairytale strife
Why did they die with such piety?
Lies and deceit
Of the patriarchal society
With promises left to keep
When the rich wage war
It’s the poor who die
So here in the solemn gloom
A thousand families weep
For loved ones sent to their doom
And that promise left to keep

The sharp stabbing sensations unfold,
My head feels like it’s going to detonate,
As the painful memories take hold,
All I can do is contemplate,
About mistakes already made,
I’m sorry if I ever did wrong by you,
My perception has been greyed,
It’s like a game already played through,
Our connection that we sew,
Of gold and silver thread,
Have I recklessly slew,
Now with only dreams to dread,
With no will to even breathe,
Your absence sends me spiralling down,
You promised you’d never leave,
In loneliness I’m left to drown,
...

As I count the hours
As I count the hours, minutes and days
until I can gaze upon your elegant face
to feel your passionate yet gentle embrace
my heart throbbing at the very thought of you
and a very sleepless night about to ensue
I can’t help but feel a blissful sorrow
for all my fabled fantasies
about you are all so very hollow
as nothing can compares to being in your company
my armour is stripped bare
without a place to hide
I’m thrown aback by the very sight of you
like an arrow piercing through
Constantly reminded of your absence
I swear...
until I can gaze upon your elegant face
